Dawn

Handwritten letters, a handmade card, a gift made by a friend.. all these hold a special place in our heart. Nothing can ever replace them and will always remain priceless. In this time where we have conversations merely through gadgets, personalizing and taking that effort to show you care is rare and forgotten. Making things on your own not only shows we care but also has that extra love and warmth in it.

Smitten by all things handmade, through Dori I try and maintain the whole product to be completely handcrafted. The fabric is handwoven, the embroidery is completely done by hand and the garment is finished by one tailor. I also believe in details and hence the labels are hand embroidered on soft cottons and the tags are from handmade paper. This is also one of the reasons why it takes a long time to develop a new collection or why it is available only in limited quantity. When you wear the dress, you are not only supporting the weavers but also acknowledging the long days spent on weaving, the rigorous hours it takes to beautifully handcraft the kasuti. Seeing the customers happy in Dori makes all the difference to those hands which spent days on handcrafting it just for you. So make sure to take a moment and acknowledge all the little things around you. And next time you want to say something to someone, handover a letter instead of texting. Trust me, it feels good.
